Kochi has an efficient bus system that makes commute hassle-free for the public. It is one of the few cities in India, where the intra-city public bus system is not monopolised. This widens the scope of private operators and ensures high frequency of buses and less waiting time for the public.
Apart from the blue–white private buses, the state-run Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates orange and green buses, the air-conditioned, low-floor buses, and the non air-conditioned, semi-low-floor buses, which cater to people from all divisions.
